Always-on MOTD: Instantly show if a server is offline, installing, starting, or suspended
Description
When a Minecraft server is offline, the entry in a player's multiplayer list simply stops responding. They get a connection error and no explanation, identical whether the server is stopped, still installing, restarting, or suspended for non-payment.
AlwaysMOTD answers those server-list pings on behalf of servers that are not running, so the entry keeps showing a proper MOTD with your own server icon and the real status. Players see Server Offline, Server Suspended, Server Installing, or Server Starting with a message you write yourself.
Features
- Easy setup: around six lines in
config.ymland you are running. - Easy install: only two files uploaded to your nodes. Works with Blueprint.
- Fast failover: detects a change in server state within about two seconds.
- Fully customizable: every message and icon can be configured to your own wording.
- Your own server icon: use your logo as the icon for offline, suspended, starting, and installing servers.
- Efficient: under 5 MB of memory and almost no CPU, with local caching.
Compatibility
Works with both Blueprint and standalone Pterodactyl. It does not modify your Pterodactyl panel at all, it only adds a single file to your Wings server, so panel updates cannot break it.
Also available for Calagopus
Moved to the newer panel, or migrating gradually? The same addon is available as AlwaysMOTD Addon for Calagopus.
