Configure additional fees for payment gateways.
Description
Payment processing is rarely free. PayPal, Stripe, and most local methods each take a percentage plus a fixed amount, and the rates differ per method. On thin hosting margins that difference is the margin, and absorbing it silently means your cheapest plan can lose money depending on how the customer paid.
Gateway Fees lets you configure an additional fee per payment gateway, so the cost of the method is reflected at checkout instead of quietly coming out of your profit.
What it does
- Per gateway fees: set a separate additional fee for each payment method you offer.
- Visible at checkout: the fee is applied to the order rather than hidden in your accounting.
- Steers payment choice: when an expensive method costs more, customers tend to pick the cheaper one, which lowers your average processing cost.
If you want to see the effect on your margin over time, the Expense Manager tracks income against costs in the same panel.
